We are so very sad to learn of the passing of one of our all time inspirational greats, Mr. Robin Gibb, who, aged just 62, lost his battle against cancer yesterday. His music and that of his brothers (the famous BeeGees) is often on full sound speaker here. Indeed on more than a few occasions we have been dancing to Saturday Night Fever. Our children were reared with, and continue to dance to, “You Should Be Dancing” (it is so good it was re-introduced to a new generation at the end of the fantastic Despicable Me last year). All through the years Robin Gibb has inspired us and his music enthuses our spirits when they are low, calms us when we are stressed and makes us laugh as we all try to re-create John Travoltas famous moves in “Saturday Night Fever”. In memory of him we would like to show here some images of our work which came about from listening to his beautiful tones.
The work to your left was inspired by “Jive Talking”. The song perfectly encompasses the excitement, flirtation and buzz of a dinner party.
The image below is a result of playing ”Massachusetts”at full blast, not to mention singing into the microphone at the top of our voices hoping no-one was around!
This photo sends a rush of happy memories as we play “You Should Be Dancing” quite frequently, especially when we need a boost. That song just oozes happiness and joy and was used to get the team going every morning. By the way this American poplar hallway is perfect for dancing down along (trust us).
In our quieter moments we used to play “Spirits Having Flown” at the top of this hallway and look out over the spectacular sea views. It was just impossible not to feel closer to nature. This was one of the happiest times at Teamwoodcraft. Thank you Robin for the inspiration, the happy memories and the music. Your music lives on and continues to inspire us daily. R.I.P.
