Teamwoodcraft are trying very hard to become a totally green company. Over the past couple of years we have tried to implement green policies wherever possible and wherever is not cost prohibitive. We are constantly seeking new ways to develop our green programme and indeed are open to discussions and new ideas from many colleges and organisations that we work closely with. Teamwoodcraft are delighted to have been one of the only companies in Ireland approved for the FIRA project.
Concepts we have initiated include the following:
• Our workshop is carbon neutral. Any off cuts are put through our wood chipper and converted into logs for our wood burning stove which heats our workshop.
• We try to use water based lacquers wherever possible.
• We recycle as much of our product as possible including our lacquer tins etc.
• We also recycle some of our clients furniture by taking it in and reupholstering or restaining-polishing countertops, counter fronts etc. wherever possible so that we are using products that are in existence rather than having to create totally new ones.
• We employ clean systems in our workshop specifically to deal with recycling and efficiency.
• In our offices we print on recycled paper wherever possible and print on both sides of the paper to save our trees, which of course we love.
•We provide all documentation and brochures on CD’S.
• Our energy is produced by a sustainable company.
•Our products have a naturally long life cycle and are produced to the highest standards with training to our clients to ensure that they get longevity from products made by ourselves. We would always encourage recycling of old products rather than completely new products wherever possible.
